The Ohio Board of Regents provides funding for the Research Incentive (formerly called Research Challenge) Program through the use of Third Frontier Bond Proceeds. WSU’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) requests applications for two competitions related to this funding source: the Research Incentive Seed Grant Program and the Incentive to Collaborate Grant Program.
Both programs are intended to provide funding to support and improve the effectiveness of basic or applied research that will strengthen the development of proposals by individual faculty members or collaborative research teams for grant opportunities directly related to the University System of Ohio’s sanctioned Centers of Excellence and the Ohio Third Frontier targeted technology areas. The targeted technology areas are: Advanced and Alternative Energy; Biomedical; Advanced Materials; Instruments-Controls-Electronics; and Advanced Propulsion.
Proposals for the Seed Grant Program may be submitted by individual researchers (for up to $25,000) or teams, as defined in the RFP, (for up to $40,000). The program guidelines and application cover sheet are available at: www.wright.edu/rsp/internal.html, then click on “Seed Grant Program.”
Proposals for the Incentive to Collaborate Grant Program may be submitted by teams, as defined in the RFP, (for up to $45,000). The program guidelines and application cover sheet are available at: www.wright.edu/rsp/internal.html, then click on “Incentive to Collaborate Grant Program.”
One PDF of the application, including a cover sheet with scanned signatures, is due on or before Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 5 p.m. and should be submitted electronically to Ellen Reinsch Friese at ellen.friese@wright.edu.
