The second season of Radio Rounds premieres at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9. Follow the link to listen to a live audio stream or download a podcast of the show. The show’s special guest is Dr. Brian Cole, head team physician for the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and Professor of Orthopedics at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Cole was recently named the 2009 NBA Team Physician of the Year.
Radio Rounds is the nation’s first medical radio talk show produced entirely by medical students. It was launched last year by a group of students in the class of 2012 at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
On Tuesday, August 11, Radio Rounds producers Avash Kalra and Lakshman Swamy will host a full-audience, live show from 12:00-1:30 p.m. in the Gandhi Auditorium in White Hall (101 WH) on the Wright State main campus.
The show is sponsored by the American Medical Students Association (AMSA) chapter at Wright State. Lunch will be provided by AMSA. All BSOM students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Special guests for the live show include:
Dr. Howard M. Part, Dean of the Boonshoft School of Medicine
Dan Henderson, AMSA Health Justice Fellow (Mr. Henderson is flying in for this event)
Casey McCluskey, MS2 (Casey will discuss her recent and ongoing “patient perspective”)
There will also be a few surprises, as well as an opportunity to win gift card prizes!
Upcoming Radio Rounds programs will feature Dr. Gloria Wilder, the CEO and founder of Core Health; several nationally-renowned physician-authors, NY Times columnists, and NPR contributors such as Stephen Bergman, Elissa Ely, and Sandeep Jauhar; the medical director for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots; and Wright State faculty members such as Dr. Paula Termuhlen.
